The Joys of Cold Water

(Wednesday 5 November 2014) by Rick Clot
Today will be a short post as I comment on some recent observations I've made. Cold water has finally returned to the cold water faucets in my house. That's a luxury everyone takes for granted unless you live in a hot desert climate like me. Then it's expected. Here in Phoenix in the summer months cold tap water is virtually non existent. Because there's no threat of frost in the winter the water pipes are not buried very far underground so when the ground heats up in the summer, and you can bet the farm it WILL heat up in the summer along with everything else down here, the faucets in the house are re labeled "Hot" and "Less Hot". Just something you learn to get used to. Then, a week or so ago, I applied for new health care coverage. This morning at 8:00 AM local time I get a phone call informing me that my health care application was rejected. How coincidental that the phone call comes at 8:00 AM on the day after the elections. The conspiracy theorist in me is running amok. I'm blaming the Democrats for all of this. Then yesterday was opening day of the softball season in our community and there seemed to be an inordinate amount of arguing for an opening day. This all puzzles me since I would think all the old people here would be happy and mellowed out from the prospect of the Republicans about to reclaim the Senate but apparently I was wrong. Maybe there are more Democrats here than I realized. This may be a long season.

Until Next Time,
Enjoying cold water again,
Rick
