Yabba Dabba Do

(Friday 14 August 2015) by Rick Clot
One week ago today I was involved in a minor motor vehicle mishap in a restaurant parking lot. It was so minor I prefer to call it a mishap or an incident rather than a crash. Crash sounds disastrous. Even life threatening at times. Incident sounds more pastoral. At any rate, someone was pulling out of a parking space nose first and hit me in the front wheel passenger side as I was driving by. It took his insurance company a week to determine that their client was totally at fault and accepted full liability for all repairs to my car. I don't know why it took them so long to come to that conclusion. I've been trying to tell them that all week long. If I'm driving down the aisle in a straight line and he's pulling out of a space making a turn it seems pretty obvious to me that it's going to be his fault 100% of the time. Anyway, because he hit me square on the wheel, my steering and possibly my suspension were damaged not to mention I'll need a new rim. I brought the car into the dealer yesterday and who knows how long this will take but the insurance is paying for a rental car. They gave me a Toyota Yaris which is similar to a grown up roller skate. It has absolutely no power at all. I'm trying hard to stay off the high speed highways unless the entrance ramp is a half mile long. Maybe then I'll have built up enough speed to merge. I feel like Fred Flintstone.

Until Next Time,
Loving my motorized roller skate,
