What Are These People Thinking #2

(Thursday 17 March 2016) by Rick Clot
OK, here's another one for the record book in the category of "Stupid Old Drivers". The other day I was going to the store and I made a left turn behind a driver who made his left turn onto a side street on the way to the store. Then, for some inexplicable reason mainly because I don't have the first clue what this guy was thinking, he decided to stop in the middle of the road. At first I thought he might want to make a left turn into an office building parking lot but he didn't have his turn signal on and since there was no oncoming traffic I didn't think that was his intent. He sat there in the middle of the road for at least 20 seconds. I know it doesn't sound like much but it can seem like an eternity when someone stops in front of you and doesn't move for apparently no reason. I will say I was proud of myself for not leaning on the horn, an action I had every right to invoke but chose not to. I sat there patiently waiting for this dimwit to make up his mind where he wanted to be. Truly a tough decision since I don't think he knew where he was to begin with. Finally, after checking his GPS or maybe a road map, he turned on his signal and made his turn into the aforementioned parking lot but not after blocking traffic for what seemed like an eternity. Oh the joys of living in a retirement community. Every week is a new adventure dealing with old people trying to drive. Just driving through our community the first thing that you notice is how every street sign is twice the size of a normal sign. That should have been our first clue.

Until Next Time,
Scratching my head in Surprise,
