Hello Unemployment Line

(Tuesday 28 June 2016) by Rick Clot
The last couple of days have been interesting to say the least. I've been working a part time job for the last 10 months driving for an airport shuttle service. Not a lot of pay but it gets me out of the house and keeps me busy four days a week. So two days ago I found out from the owner of the shuttle service that she was selling the business to another shuttle service. Since then the scuttlebutt going around the office is that the new owner pays less than what I'm making now (if that's possible) and their office is located further away from home which eliminates the possibility of taking my golf cart to work. I also understand from one of our drivers who used to work for this new company that the owner has electronic devices installed in all his company vehicles that monitor the driver's distance and speed of the vehicle. He also strongly discourages his drivers from idling in the airport cell phone lot for more than 10 minutes with the A/C running. He wants the vehicle turned off even if it's 108. Sounds too much like big brother is watching. So it looks like I'll be keeping my eyes and ears open for another job soon.

Until Next Time,
