Back To Phoenix Day #4

(Wednesday 27 July 2016) by Rick Clot
Cruised back to the Valley under cloudy skies and got our first and only rain coming south on I-17 south of Flagstaff. It only lasted less than an hour but oh so heavy in spots. Flagstaff is at 7000' elevation and Phoenix is 1200'. It took us two hours to make that trip and in that time we went from rain and 63 to sunny and 113. A 50 degree difference in temperature. Not sure we'll ever make that trip again. It was a chore for this 70 year old body. Flying may be our only option in the future. We stopped in Winslow, AZ. to see the statue of a man standing on the corner that commemorates the Eagles song "Take It Easy". Well, I'm a-standin' on a corner in Winslow, Arizona. Such a fine sight to see. It's a girl, my Lord, in a flat-bed Ford Slowin' down to take a look at me.

Until Next Time,
Home again in Surprise,
Rick
