Emotions Are A Funny Thing

(Saturday 24 September 2016) by Rick Clot
Isn't it funny how emotions can change course on a dime. Thursday was my dad's birthday and would have been 103 had he lived. I've missed him a lot over the years and was a little melancholy that day. But yesterday was a happy day for a couple of reasons. A guy from the glass company came out to the house to replace my cracked windshield on my car. He was there and gone in less than an hour. Badda boom badda bing. The best part was my auto insurance covered it at no cost to me which meant FREE and I'm all over free. My insurance policy covers three glass replacements a year which I guess is normal in a state like Arizona where everything is decorated with rocks. Then after he left I got into a project cleaning and reorganizing my storage cabinets in the garage. I came across my world championship softball ring I won in 2010 but had gone missing about 4-5 years ago. I thought it was lost. So at the end of the day I was all smiles. Today I'm back in my melancholy mood. Today marks the 50th anniversary of sailing under the Golden Gate bridge on my way to Vietnam and there are several of my brothers gathering in San Francisco this weekend to commemorate the occasion. I tried every which way to make it there but the deck was stacked against me this year. Hopefully, they'll post a lot of pictures on the website.

Until Next Time,
Feeling blue in Surprise,
