Blue Lives Matter

(Saturday 11 February 2017) by Rick Clot
Yesterday a friend of mine who does a variety of handyman projects agreed to come over and fix my hot water heater. My drain plug was dripping and needed replacing. This was a project that seemed simple enough but I just didn't want to attempt it on my own based solely on my personal belief that there is no such thing as a ten minute job for me. So while I was waiting out in the garage for him to show up two police vehicles drove slowly by the house with the second one stopping at the end of my driveway. The officer asked me to step out of the garage into the sunlight. I wasn't sure if I should come out with my hands up yelling don't shoot or go down to the end of the drive to talk to him. I came out of the garage into the sun and he said, "Ok that's far enough. I just wanted to make sure you were casting a shadow. That means we're in for six more weeks of winter". Ha ha real funny. Everybody's a comedian these days. BTW, John the handyman showed up, fixed my water heater in less than five minutes and we stood around and talked for two hours.

Until Next Time,
Hands up in Surprise,
